Abby served as Team Leader for Jayhawk Motorsports for the Formula SAE and Formula Hybrid cars, as an Engineering Senator on Student Senate, and as Vice President and Freshman President of Engineering Student Council. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Pi Tau Sigma, and Tau Beta Pi. Abby studied abroad in Swansea, Wales the Spring of her sophomore year and was named an ExCel finalist in 2010. She interned at CH2M Hill (Power Sector, Piping Group) in Englewood, CO during the summer in 2008-09 and at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company
(Design Team) in Sweeny, TX for the summer of 2010.
Abby enjoys spending time with her family and friends, snowboarding, and traveling. Her life goal is to visit all seven continents...her current count is five!
Abby currently works for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company. She is part of the two year rotational GRAD program. Her first rotation was in the design department implementing expense projects at the Ethylene and NGL units in Sweeny, TX. Her current role is in Process Safety Management where she works to enforce and develop programs to reach corporate driven goals and maintain the facility's regulatory compliance. Through work, she volunteers at local elementary schools with Junior Achievement, and serves as the President of the New Hire Network.
