The Self Engineering Leadership Fellows Alumni are starting a “Connections” bulletin where alumni will share their experiences on a variety of topics. The Connections piece will feature a different alum author each month, and highlight various student and professional experiences. Starting Friday November 2nd, the alumni group will publish weekly posts covering all kinds of topics ranging from internship stories, to job advice, good and bad interviews, daily job experiences, and more. Details are to follow at the SELF Alumni Social this Friday.
Kathleen Armistead, from the SELF Class of 2011, was recently promoted to Refinery Technical Advisor at Champion Technologies in Houston, Texas. As a member of the technical support group, she works to troubleshoot various problems in refineries and is particularly focused on corrosion. She has worked on several innovative projects with Champion involving ionic modeling, crude compatibility, emulsion stability, H2S scavenging and acid speciation, and she is actively involved in implementing a knowledge sharing network for Champion’s Refinery Process Solutions business unit. Kathleen is a member of NACE International and recently gave a Principles & Practices presentation at the Fall 2012 AFPM Conference.
