Samantha Forbes, from the SELF Class of 2012, has recently decided to work with a non-profit group in Uganda for six months following early graduation from the architectural engineering program at the University of Kansas. Her December graduation offered a rare opportunity to work with a non-profit overseas. She will be traveling to Kampala, Uganda for 6 months working with a non-profit group called Engineering Ministries International (EMI). She will be serving as a construction management intern during her time with EMI. Learn more about Samantha here.

More information about EMI can be found on their website at http://emiusa.org/. SELF Class of 2011 graduate Colin Davidson has accepted a position with the Energy Group at Burns & McDonnell. He will be working at the headquarters in Kansas City. Colin has worked with Burns & McDonnell through summer internships in 2011 and 2010. He will be beginning work following graduation (B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and B.A. in Business) in May of 2012.
Class of 2011 Self Fellow Joey Meyer recently accepted a Design Position with Fire Dynamics, a division of Henderson Engineers in Lenexa, Kansas. He will be working as a Fire Protection Designer beginning in January. Fire Dynamics is a design consulting team that works primarily in fire alarm design, fire sprinkler design, and in code consulting.
